A Brief History of Hajee Monir Ahamed College
Education is the backbone of a nation. Realizing this fact and to meet the challenge of the modern global world and to give the light of modern scientific, idealistic education which is essential for modern life, the great son of the locality, a social worker, donor, the heroic freedom fighter and industrialist Late Principal M. Wazi Ullah Bhuiyan established Hajee Monir Ahamed Degree College in memory of his father Hajee Monir Ahamed in G.M. Hat of Fulgazi Upazila in Feni District in 1981. The college is situated about 200 hundred yards south of G.M. Hat Bazar, on 3.20 acres of land. The H.S.C examination center of Comilla Education Board was set up in 1996 in this college and still exists.
The result of H.S.C examinations of last few years are very satisfactory. To give higher education of the students of the locality, the college was upgraded as a degree college under National University from 2012-2013 education session. Students have been enrolled in B.B.S (Pass) degree. The courses of B.A (Pass) and B.S.S (Pass) are under process. There are about 28 teachers, six office staffs and about 382 students in this college. Surrounded by security wall, the campus has one large three storied building and a one storied building. The campus includes a rich library, a modern computer Lab, a Mosque, a Shahid Minar, and a large Pond. Moreover, the construction of a modern four storied digital building is under process. Since the establishment of the college it has been making a great contribution to expanding education in the locality.
