Comilla women`s college started her journey with 03 teacher`s and seventeen students in 1960 at the core- heart of Comilla town in the muslim institute hall at monohar pur. Mr. mosleuddin the English teacher of Brahmonbaria college was appointed as founder principal of the college. The entire campus of the college (including the then fuller Islamic hostel) was a trusty property donated by nowab hussam haider chowdhury. His son Nowab Osman Haider Chowdhury as a representative of the trusty board donated about 5 (five) acres of land for the college.Gradually the college became a full-fledged degree college in 1967. Within a short time the college earn the reputation of the 2nd biggest and best women`s college (1st being Eden Girls College, Dhaka) in Bangladesh.The college was Nationalized in 1978. The college opened Honour`s and Preliminary Master`s course in Bangla and Political Science after the War of Liberation in the Year 1973 under Chittagong University. In 1997 the college opened Honour`s and Master`s courses in Socialwark, Philosophy, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany and Zoology. At Present the student roll strength of college is about 4,000. The golden jubilee ceremony (1960-2010) of the college has been celebrated in a befitting manner with the active participation of old and current students, Teachers and well- wishers on 15th of January 2011. The college plays an important roll for the advancement of Female education from the very begining.
