On January 6, 1993, Hatgangopara Degree College was established by the initiative of the existent President of Governing Body, Advocate Md Ebrahim Hossain, and with the full co-operation of the local people, at Hatgangopara of Auchpara Union of Bagmara Upazila of Rajshahi District, on the banks of the Compo River and beside the paca road connecting the Upazila and District Headquarters. The college is an institution for Higher Secondary and Graduation Education. First recognized at Higher Secondary level on January 1995 and Graduation level on February 2001. The college became MPO at higher secondary level in March, 1998 and graduate level in April, 2002. Since its inception, the institution has been conducting co-educational (together) activities. The institution continues to play an important role in the field of education. The institution's role in promoting women's education deserves praise. The contribution of the institution in social, economic and political fields is undeniable. Hatgangopara Degree College, the center of cultural practice, is one of the educational institutes of Bagmara Upazila and Rajshahi District.
