Patuakhali district is at the last south part of education., social workers, greatmen and genaral people established this college for the progration bangladesh which is by the bay of bangal. The people devoted to of education. In 1969 it was a night college. After that with the financial help of late abdul karim mridha the thither deputy commisonar together with local elites turned it into day and night college. In 1973 the honourable land minister gonab abdur rab serniabad of awami league government of that time alloted a piece of land against the college. The honourable teacher have taught the student's with much credit and reputation since the college started. The meritorious and poor student's are given scholarship and financial help from abdur rab serniabad trust. As a result the number of student's is increasing day by day and the result is glorious in every year. In 2001 it was selected as the best of the colleges of bangladesh and hence it was rewarded by the honourable prim-minister shekh hansina. The college performs cultural weeks, annual sports, internal debate, wall-megagine etc. It has rober scout, girl's guide and activities of red crescent. It has it's own cultural party named "ananda shilpa gosti", at present there are h.s.c science, commerce and arts group and also b.m branc. In degree b.sc and b.b.s group of student's are available here. Social works, geography and political science, accounting honours coures and also political science, social work masters are running here. Student's take part actively in district and national cultural programs with much credit. It is in the heart of the town, here the enviroment and natural beauty are so much attracting to all.
